Food awareness can point out the areas you might struggle and end up falling off course. Awareness can also help stop “Dopamine driven Food” Triggers and Over Consumption.
If you’re privy to nighttime triggers, this can often happen when you mistake hunger for other needs.
Late-night munching often stems from misinterpreting thirst, tiredness, or boredom as hunger.
By practicing food awareness, you become more attuned to your body’s actual hunger cues, like stomach growling or a slight energy dip. This allows you to distinguish true hunger from emotional or environmental triggers that lead to unnecessary nighttime binges.
These excitatory, manufactured and highly palatable food can often drive dopamine and encourage over eating episodes.
Protein first… Have a healthy portion of protein before you want to have any highly processed snack foods.
Food awareness emphasizes slowing down and savouring your food.
This mindful approach to eating not only enhances the taste and enjoyment of your meal but also allows your body time to register satiety signals, preventing overconsumption before you feel uncomfortably full.
You really can enjoy the things that you love in moderation as long as you have a plan.
Nighttime often coincides with heightened stress, loneliness, or boredom, which can trigger emotional eating. Food awareness equips you to identify these emotional triggers and find healthier coping mechanisms, like taking a walk, calling a friend, or practicing relaxation techniques, instead of seeking comfort in unhealthy snacks.
Instead of snacking try to set up three different activities that you can do if you’re bored. I really like to walk, play a game or listen to music or a podcasts and clean or organize for a successful next day.
Let’s become aware and create a plan!
